HURRICANE
Clerestory Light is an interdisciplinary design and production studio specializing in creating unique immersive experiences and dynamic landmarks. With backgrounds in theatre, music, technology, architecture, anthropology, and public history, we seek out the spirit of special places and help to tell their stories. Our place-based work finds inspiration in the natural and built environments where it will be installed, and in the human and ecological connections which may be amplified and celebrated. Through exploration and collaboration, we distil the elemental narratives of each place and illustrate them through original music synchronized with dynamic light. Our work transforms environments, conjuring the colors of spring in the midwinter, or the traces of magic in the quotidian. This transformation highlights the inherent beauty in each place, and the mission of those who care for them.

Michael Crawbuck and Mickey Santana
THE COLOSSUS TREE
Three Bee is an experiential art collective led by Michael and Mickey, dedicated to creating whimsical interactive installations that amplify marginalized stories and foster joyful conversations. In 2025, we were thrilled to participate in the Illumination Light Art Festival and debut our first public art project, “The Glass Garden Pavilion.” This installation celebrated the LGBTQIA+ community’s perseverance in the face of New York City gay bar raids and closures in the 1960s. Most recently, we created “First Taste of Diaspora,” an interactive beverage installation about migration and finding home, in partnership with immersive culinary theatre producers, StoryCourse. We are eager to continue blending mediums including light design, hand-crafted materials, and culinary arts to create surprising and uplifting experiences.

Kingmallard
LIGHT BATH PORTAL
A Brooklyn-based artist, they have spent the past decade developing Light Baths, a practice that transforms human bodies and spaces through projected light and digital patterns. What began in 2016 as intimate portrait sessions has grown into gallery exhibitions, performance collaborations, and large-scale public installations.
Their medium combines projection technology with live interaction to create what they call an “armor of artwork,” transforming participants’ skin into illuminated canvases that empower new forms of self-expression. Drawing from a background in hospitality, they focus on crafting safe, welcoming spaces where people can explore transformation through light.
Their work has been shown at The Other Art Fair in Brooklyn and Los Angeles, Miami Art Week’s Satellite Art Show, and the 92nd Street Y, as well as in multiple solo exhibitions, including Light Baths: Environments Reflected at Button Studios and Light Baths: Focus at CIA Gallery. They also completed a two-week ChaShaMa residency in Midtown Manhattan featuring daily interactive public programming.
They maintain an ongoing projection design partnership with Cipriani and have presented Light Baths at more than 50 events across the United States. After attending Illumination NYC 2025 as an audience member, they were inspired by the festival’s commitment to interactive, community-driven light art—an approach that closely aligns with the direction in which they are continuing to develop their own practice.
Geoffrey Hicks
LUMINOUS VINES
A New York–based artist and creative technologist, they work with light, interaction, and engineered systems for public space. Their practice focuses on creating immersive environments that respond to human presence through custom lighting, sensing technologies, and real-time control systems. Their temporary light installations have been presented at the Napa Lighted Art Festival in California, Georgetown Glow in Washington, D.C., and Glow Nights in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In addition to festival work, they have designed and installed permanent light installations in public facilities in California, New York, Maryland, Texas, and Oklahoma, with a new installation currently in development in Connecticut.
Through their studio, OptArt LLC, they also design and produce commercial projection-mapping installations, ultra-high-resolution LED wall systems, and other custom-engineered media environments. Across both artistic and commercial projects, their work emphasizes thoughtful fabrication, safe public interaction, and reliable performance in outdoor and high-traffic settings.
