Small Hadron Collider

About the piece: We’re made of atoms, but what are atoms made of? Small Hadron Collider invites us to ponder the basic building blocks that make up our bodies, and the natural world that we are a part of. Small Hadron Collider is an interactive LED light art installation that lets participants play the role of a powerful subatomic force, launching and colliding "particles" of light. Small Hadron Collider is an artwork that connects people through a shared playful experience. It inspires us to wonder about the particles that make up our world, and creates a sense of curiosity about the building blocks of the universe. Because we are all made of the same space dust, man!

About the artist: Everything Good Studio is a collaboration between Rachel Ciavarella and Jack Kalish, a multi-disciplinary art and design team based in Brooklyn, NY. Our work is focused on creative and innovative applications of new and emerging technologies. We are interested in the use of art and technology as a means of exploring new ideas through engagement and immersion. We believe art is completed by its audience and should be participatory by design. Through our work we invite the audience to question their preconceived notions of reality and see the world with child-like openness and imagination.
