About the piece: This immersive light installation draws inspiration from the elegant geometry of a hand fan—each spoke radiating from a shared center, creating a sense of movement and balance. Once installed, the piece reveals even more layers: the sweeping arc of lights evokes the glow of a rising or setting sun, the delicate symmetry of a clam shell, or something entirely unique depending on the viewer’s perspective. What do you see?

With over 320 LED lights embedded in 10 Astera tubes, the piece comes to life through 15+ meticulously programmed lighting effects, each shifting every 15 seconds. The result is a dynamic, ever-changing atmosphere that invites reflection, interpretation, and awe.

About the artist: Joe Petrowski is a creative designer who specializes in imaginative lighting design. Joe can be found creating memorable moments for thousands of spectators through dazzling and spectacular lighting displays and installations or creating visual elements at a nightclub. Joe has collaborated with various musical artists and production companies creating unique entertainment experiences. Credits include Art Bath, The Q, Laissez Faire, Mission Nightclub, Hearsay, Knockdown Center, New York City Gay Men’s Chorus, Macy’s Santaland, Mckittrick Hotel & Insomniac, and Walt Disney World.
